Blaise 18 walk poster4m

The day starts at 10.15 with a tour of the Cathedral, including the carving of Saint Blaise.

The walk will start at 11.00.

The walk will pause at The Midland Hotel to view the Spirit of Bradford wall painting, and the place where Sir Henry Irvin died.

From the Midland we will go up Cheapside (formally Skinner Row); around The City Gent (formally Yorkshire Penny Bank, the Piper’s Grave formally to that.

We will stop at The Sparrow Bier Cafe, arriving no later than 11.45. The will be some pies, and hopefully some slides of old Bradford. We will be stopping for around half an hour.

From The Sparrow the exact route will depend on weather; but Early St, Kirkgate, Ivegate and the Wool Exchange/Waterstone’s  will be passed.

The official part of the walk will finish at The Lord Clyde, where bread and dripping will be available.

The above route covers about half of the route of the 1825 procession, but in reverse direction.
